No CommentsNow all those cynics out there will have their own idea of what this could be and there are a few classics that they would be amply qualified to collect, whether it be over zealous use of information powers, intrusive tax investigations or even blatantly ignoring the facts when it comes to employment status, but no this award is …
“Best public policy decision of the Year”, presented as part of the Citizens Advice Awards. Now I must admit I too was left scratching my head as to what this could relate to but it was awarded on the basis that a decision was made not to pursue pensioners for unpaid tax, that to cut a long story short, they didn’t even know was due. Commendable, yes but down to HMRC I don’t think so – this came about because of some high profile lobbying of MPs.
